Birds of a Feather Series

These little birdies were fun to paint, mainly because they aren’t paintings of any particular bird, they were made out of pure random thought. Towards the end of my day I would simply start stroking the brush on the paper and before I knew it, the shapes were looking more and more like birds. I decided to create different types of shapes, tried different textures, and focused on creating each bird with its own color.

First I started with creating the primary color birds (red, blue, yellow). Next, I created the secondary colored birds (purple, green, orange). Let me know what you guys think of this bird series by leaving a comment.

If you want to know what tools I used in creating these little guys click on the product images listed below. I find that other than technique, exploring different tools can drastically change the outcome of your painting.
